OUR STORY
ESTABLISHED in 1995
Blackburn United FC was established in 1995 with a simple but powerful mission — to give young people in Blackburn the opportunity to play football, develop their skills and grow as individuals.
From humble beginnings on local parks and pitches, the club has grown into a well-respected community organisation with over 200 registered players and 15 volunteer committee members.
We are proud to be an FA 2-star accredited club, a recognition of our commitment to high standards in coaching, safeguarding and club management.

COMMUNITY, DEVELOPMENT & PARTICIPATION
BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES
We create safer, stronger and more respectful community links through development. By increasing participation, providing regular football, and offering role models and coaching leaders, we create opportunities for both players and volunteers to thrive.
We actively encourage young people, particularly Asian youths, into grassroots sport and believe barriers can be broken down through football.
FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
We engage and coach children and young people aged 5 to 14 through constructive activities. Sessions are open for both sexes and take place every Saturday morning at:
- Synergy Sport Centre Formerly St. Mary’s College
- St Michael With St Johns School
Around 150 children attend regularly, developing football skills, teamwork, communication and self-confidence.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOCUS
The future development of the club lies firmly with its ability to work at local grassroots levels, showing the important role sport plays in youth development.
